Ceramic watches with inner steel case?
Dear Paneristi,
discussing the (IMHO imponderable) risks of buying a watch with a ceramic case in the Omega forum (subject were my thoughts on purchasing the Omega Speedmaster Darkside of the Moon) I have got some new and - at least to me - amazing information.
Art informed me, that "one of the reasons ceramic case repair is so expensive is that they generally have an inner steel case, which can only be repaired in a facility with the necessary technical capability. The DSOM's case, though, is entirely ceramic, so the usual labor-driven costs of repair might not be in play."
I must confess I haven't realized that so far!
Does there exist any "official" statement from Panerai on this subject? Do you have further information about that topic?
