A big deal indeed...

Although I'm not a Luminor 44 mm fanatic (to me Panerai is all about 47 mm cushion shaped) I must admit that this set is a big deal.
First and foremost we can consider this Black Seal THE REAL Black Seal (as the preV never came to production) and secondly because Panerai managed to make a contemporary watch attractive for those who had little attraction for the contemporary pieces due to their love for the old school...well done!

Panerai 2014 collection PAM 785: An air of Pre Vendome.
By: amanico : October 1st, 2014-10:34
Panerai surprised me a lot, in a positive way, this year. After the Radiomir 1940 Marina Militare, here is another delicious surprise, the PAM 785, which is not one Watch ,but a set of rwo watches, which will mean a lot for the old school guys, as we have...

Love the 5218-218 tribute, woohoo!!!

If that one was sold separately, I'm pretty sure it would give the 587 stiff competition!!! Not that the set won't sell out all the same ;) T4S :)
Love to have em

but I fear the worst ... Demand out stripping demand ... Not into that game .. No matter how much I think this is great .... Do apologize for the negativity , but time and again ... Such a shame
As much as I....

appreciate the idea of breathing life into the 5218-218 (a-la 2533/373) and reinforcing the strong Pre-V connotation by adding the "whity", I'm not sure I like the set. The extensive usage of the "ecru luminova" (which for me will remain faux-tritium, for...
I agree with you, Nicolas, and I'm also...

positive it wouldn't look the same (at least the 218 "wannabe") but...personally....I just don't like the stuff :-) Cheers... ps I managed the "switch" and I..will..get the 587, yuppyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
I wonder the retail price is going to be for this PAM785 set

There probably will be people who break up the set, so eventually you'll be able to find these pieces individually IMO. Flippers will buy the set and then try to resell them individually for a profit... - AT
The retail is 15900 Euros / 20900 USD.

We have to see how come the papers. If you haveonly one booklet for the two watches... Then, I don't think flipppers will sell then individually. Best, Anthony. Nicolas
Thanks for sharing M8. And someone pointed out

I just have something to show you... :-) Ciaooooooooooo ps. I have, in the meantime, changed the hands of the 4 :) ...
Thank you Nicolas. This is a nice set.

And it sounds well priced for what it is, IMO. Still, the 587 is the winner for me. I loved the 399 when it was launched (2 years ago I think?), but the 587 is even nicer with the base dial.
It will be a boutique set only ............
