Thanks guys!

Those posts really help- I think that the JLC would fit the best knowing his personality and tastes.  He is generally pretty conservative with watch styles and has a fine appreciation for classic detailing.  His requirement for either stainless or titanium has pushed him into considering styles that he otherwise would not notice.

And thanks for the welcome!  I am actually here quite a bit (at least a couple of times a week), if I post it is usually a reply in response to someone else's thread - kind of a lurker smile.

I really appreciate the climate and people here and love the designs (I am a jewellery designer and gemmologist) but so far do not have the pockets to purchase the watches that float my boat smile.

Thanks again
Cary

Hi folks - I have commented a lot but never started one of these so here goes.... my father in law has an interest in watches and has a number of nice pieces - Patek, Vacheron etc. He would now like to add a perpetual to the mix. Here are some of the poin...

There's a photo of Cazalea's titanium GST in the thread above--they are large, robust, really nice, available in titanium or steel, and with a couple of different dial options. Since all are now second hand, the prices are superb. Cheers, Daniel

Another thought--VC Overseas Perp. [nt]

If you haven't seen this one, I would definitely recommend taking a look. Both grey and blue dials are great... If not this, I also like the GO. Best, Gary

I agree - tough, right size, legible, affordable

I've had the watch nearly 8 years and never regretted it. Plus, you don't need a toothpick to set the date. But you will want a winder and perhaps another link or two. I have the strap adaptors for Velcro or standard strap, but the watch is made for the b...

Welcome and suggestions...

Hope you enjoy it here! As for your father in law's quest for a stainless/titanium perpetual.... does he want it to be a sporty looking one or classic looking one? Aside from some really nice suggestions already, I'll throw these couple in the mix: - AP R...

I agree, GO PC is a valuable option. [nt]

Perpetual options

 By: sery.vlk : March 5th, 2012-07:41
As mentioned in earlier posts, you should definitely consider AP and JLC (the latter provides currently two options, 42 and 40 mm, for their 8-day perpetual). Another classical design is Blancpain in the Villeret line (without chrono), with three subdials...
