So what do Panerai Purists think of the 449

Here's another Panerai that caught my attention and I have a chance to buy one from a friend. I loved it in pics from the day it was introduced. BUT it is 47mm, etc, and I have yet to own a Panerai... Curious what the Purist collector feels about this mod...

If I could get one I would

I love the simplicity of the dial and it doesn't have the PIG on it. 47mm for a Rad is pretty big but as most purist risit's would say its the right size! I got a small wrist but I would still buy it :)

Honestly, I like its simplicity a lot! Anyone who

loves a base, would love this piece. How many people can pull off a 47mm, well, that could be the show stopper. Congrats and share more pix soon. Mech.

I really like that one..

Clean True to the DNA What more to ask? Go get it :)) Sam

That is an excellent one. As for its size, the Radiomir case is much easier to wear

Than the Luminor case. You should try one. Best, Nicolas

Rads above that if we not speak about vintage regarding style & history ...personaly 249 is my fav Had a chance to put 47mm Rad on wrist and as Nicolas said "smallest" 47mm on wrist ever Not taking = regretting Cheers D

When I first saw it, I was transfixed...

when I got it (different model but same dial), it took a long while, before I "understood" all the nouances of this dial and really...REALLY liked it. When I wear mine, I still spend some time..oogling :-) Nice choice IMO

449 is

a killer. Favorite Panerai with Radiomir 322 in my mind. 449 = Simple, pure dial and blue hands are really nice on this model. To be seen in real to understand. You will enjoy Mostel ;-)) Regards, Patrickh

449 is a beauty, though unfortunately for me I prefer 45mm...

There are not many 45mm rads that make the elite lists... Perhaps only the 190? The 449 and 339 are probably my favorite Rads

Thank you everyone

I will make a decision shortly!

Let us know Mostel. The PAM449 is a great Panerai

with a super clean dial. It would be a spectacular 1st Panerai IMO! Cheers, Anthony

PAM 449

 By: neilz : January 8th, 2014-00:49
HI I liked the California dial and was looking at the PAM 448 & PAM 449. I chose the PAM 448 - more subtle, preferred the simplicity of the dial and not the BOLD, in your face RADIOMIR - PANERAI..... I bought the PAM 448...see attached pic Just my vie...

Excuse me but the 3D "title" is PAM449...

 By: sergio : January 8th, 2014-01:57
what does a 448 (with picture to boot) got to do with it? Ciaoooooooo

PAM 449 / PAM 448

 By: neilz : January 8th, 2014-11:03
The "title" might be PAM 449 however, opinion/s were called for on the piece. The 449 and 448 were released as a a set of LE of 750 pieces each with the California dials to the boutique stores. So, it would be prudent to compare the two models in the set....

I Like it!

I have the 425 SLC which has a very similar dial and is also 47mm but as it is a radiomir it doesn't look too big. Good luck!

I would say the jury is still out on these models...

They are considered barely ok by the main streamers. Over all, though, I don't think they made an inpact. The dial is pretty odd and I believe it takes a bit to get used to it. The numberless dial, it's too odd to be readily accepted by "hard core" Panera...

too big for u [nt]
