Panerai SIHH 2011 Preview for Press at the Beverly Hills Boutique - lots of videos!

Mar 15, 2011,19:47 PM

Today we stopped by the Panerai Boutique to see the new SIHH 2011 watches.  There's has already been great coverage here in this forum, and I had high expectations of the new watches.  Dying to see the PAM372 in person, I was giddy with excitement when I saw the watches lined up on the table trays.  The below group shots are by Ming, so please give him a thanks as well for helping out with this report.

And before I continue on, if you are ever by the Beverly Hills Panerai Boutique, you must check out their new massive wall clock.  I need to get one of these in my office!!!

Below is a video of this beautiful and impressive wall clock in action.  It even has a sandwich dial!  It's difficult to see in the video below, but you can even see the minute hand slowly move if you're staring at the clock.

Panerai SIHH 2011 watches - Part 1

 By: AnthonyTsai : March 15th, 2011-20:08
The first watch I looked at was the Panerai PAM380 45mm Radiomir Black Seal . This entry level Black Seal is different from the prior Black Seal models such as the PAM183 because this version has the Pre-V OP logo on the dial. The PAM380 is a regular prod...

Panerai just blew me away this year

Already have a 372, 375 on order and thinking about the 373. Wow what a year. Regards Rene

+1, lots of nice pieces!

I have small wrists but the 372 felt good on my wrist. -MW

Great addition to the Radiomir line...

Very good addition to the entry level line for Radiomir And as for the 373... It really does looking good... I'm really hoping for a steel version in the future.. Sam

Hope you get to see them in person soon, let us know which one you get! -MW

Thanks...

I must applaud OP's effort in developing the P3000 movement for the 47mm case as opposed to the conventional approach of stuffing the P999 w/ spacer... Bravo.

Panerai SIHH 2011 watches - Part 2

 By: AnthonyTsai : March 15th, 2011-20:44
Next up is the Panerai PAM376 47mm White Gold Radiomir 3 Days w/ California dial . It's a unique edition of 299 pieces from the SIHH 2011 Special Editions. It's another 47mm Radiomir housing the new P.3000 in-house manual wind movement and also uses the P...

It is WG. Thanks for catching my error! [nt]

I was not sure anymore. You made me doubt. :)

 By: amanico : March 16th, 2011-06:22
Panerai may have changed their plans, since the SIHH, even if it was heavily unthinkable, as they already released a Platinum Cali, the 262.... Best, Nicolas. This message has been edited by amanico on 2011-03-16 06:23:47

I wish

to see bronze in the Luminor line or radio as well...am i asking for too much , Anthony? what is your thought on such a watch ? The current bronzo is attractive thats for sure, and with the hints of green color on the dial the seduction goes deeper. Thank...

Panerai SIHH 2011 watches - Part 3

 By: AnthonyTsai : March 15th, 2011-21:25
The Panerai PAM375 47mm Luminor Composite 1950 3 Days is another watch that Panerai released this year that houses the manual wind P.3000/1 movement. This watch differs from the other P.3000 watches in that it uses a sapphire crystal instead of Plexiglass...

 By: AnthonyTsai : March 15th, 2011-22:22
Now let's take at the hottest watch of the entire Panerai SIHH 2011 collection which is the long awaited 47mm 1950 Luminor Base - the Panerai PAM372 Luminor 1950 3 Days 47mm Base . We've been waiting for a 47mm base for years, and we finally have it - tha...

Thank you Ming for all of these wonderful photos of these wonderful watches. I especially appreciated the thoughtful photo that compared the various buckles and different color coatings of these buckles, as it illustrated the difference among them. Very m...

Yep

 By: DRMW : March 16th, 2011-16:46
Thanks for reading Patrick, The pieces were beautiful indeed, which did you like the most? Maybe when you get your first watch, it'll be a Panerai! -MW

I have my eye on the 382...

 By: patrick_y : March 16th, 2011-17:34
Still hoping to see it yet in person, but the PAM 382 definitely looks interesting and unique for the segment. I do find the PAM 375 very interesting as well, but I just find last year's PAM 339 to be an overall more beautiful piece.

What would have been interesting, Anthony

 By: amanico : March 15th, 2011-23:47
Is to see a picture of the 372 on a 203 or 127 or 217, to compare the two Luminor cases. But I think you're right, the 372 is DA watch! Best, Nicolas. This message has been edited by amanico on 2011-03-15 23:47:54

I have a deposit down on a 372 so don't get me wrong...

 By: magrew : March 16th, 2011-08:16
Hey guys, I put a substantial deposit down on a 372 so that I will get "the call" when they start arriving at my AD. So these comments are out of love For some reason this didn't strike me as strange until now, but isn't it a bit weird to have acrylic on ...

Your observation makes sense.

 By: amanico : March 16th, 2011-08:39
Yes, indeed, it is a bit weird that we have a sapphire case back and a plexy glass on the dial side... My guess is that a plexy is too fragile for a case back: Do you imagine all the scratches you'd get when the watch is not on your wrist? The more logica...

Oh, and THANKS for the terrific pics and videos!!!

Panerai really have done a great job for this year's new releases... As for the historic line, 372 is a definite winner... A fantastic re-issue of the original 6152.. The 373 is a version of Radiomir that some have been waiting for.. Unfortunately it is i...

thanks for posting this great report. The live shots are really exciting. I'll have to check and see when the tour is headed to NYC.

I believe the NYC tour already occurred before BH

 By: AnthonyTsai : March 16th, 2011-10:35
and also keep in mind that this was a preview showing for Press, not for the general public. Panerai wants to show the new pieces to all the press editors prior to the general public showings which will occur later. Luckily PPro is considered "Press" even...
