Horrible service at Panerai Dallas
May 21, 2014,18:55 PM
I own multiple Panerais. I recent dropped my PAM 317 (my fault) and I was told by Panerai Dallas that the repair bill would be $16,000!!i was shocked that a $25,000 watch could cost $16,000 to repair. This is nothing short of thievery. I will never buy another Panerai. Anyone else experience this kind of miserable customer service? Note to Panerai: alienating customers who buy $25,000 watches is not good for business.

I agree the cost is absurd, but don't single out Panerai Dallas.

I doubt they actually set the cost of a new case, and expect it is the same worldwide, relative to local currency of course. But I definitely feel for you; that seems totally out of line to me. BTW Brian, welcome here, and I hope you will have more posts ...
Sorry to hear you dropped your PAM317

How was the damage? Did the case crack or part of it chip off? And for reference sakes, what exact work is covered on the $16k repair bill? - AT

One of the "arms" that holds the strap to the watch casing split off when the watch dropped. The $16,000 covers the factory making a new casing. This is the infuriating part of the process--the case is still made today as a PAM 318 (vs 317), but because m...

One reason why I would not, under any circumstance
By: vitalsigns : May 29th, 2014-18:35
One reason why I would not, under any circumstance buy a ceramic Panerai (or any high-end ceramic watch, for that matter). It's a shame Panerai is not giving you a better deal on a replacement case. The marginal cost of the case has got to be a mere fract...
It happened to me too.

Please see my post about my cracked case on this forum. There are a few basic issues. 1. watches should not be made of brittle material. 2. if you make a watch out of ceramic, then design it for ceramic. Panerai takes a shape suitable for steel and conver...

Wasnt off a desk was a straight 8ft drop onto wooden stairs then one bounce onto the tiled floor. Was scared the repair bill would be massive. Managed to get a away with a movement service. Although my crown guard has a little ding in it and the 12 o 'clo...
PANERAI AND RICHEMONT ARE THIEVES
By: foubourg : June 15th, 2014-20:22
The problem is Richemont and the thugs they have leading their brands. Panerai has become nothing short of just a marketing stunt. I have Panerai's luckily no issues like this, but everytime I've had service issues in the USA or in Singapore where I live ...

I also owned 317 with K series, I am extremely careful wearing them because the repair will cost a fortunate. I will tie my strap on top of something soft (like bed) because if it drops, it will be disaster! Anyway, that remind me that if you buy all the ...
