Panerai PAM605

Dec 12, 2014,04:35 AM

So, I was in Florence recently for a Panerai evening during which they made us disassemble and reassemble a Unitas movement (solo tempo). The morning after I went to take my leave from Patrizia and her staff (which, by the way, have reached standards of courtesy and competency off the charts) at the San Giovanni boutique and find out the "status" of my order for the 587. Strolling around the truly magnificent new shop, I letterally came to a...screeching halt...in front of a glass display. Inside there was the 605 FIRENZE. I found the "object" (not the PANERAI) rather beautiful and completely different from the 2 horrifying pictures I had seen upto that moment. Firstly, the dial is not blue nor light blue nor anything to do with blue but "sun burst" gray! Secondly it sports a brand new Assolutamente as gray as the dial. In few words, a beautiful "object". The piece in the window display had the number 6, which is one of the numbers that has special meanings for me. The model is not a Special nor Limited edition, although it will only be available in the Florence boutiques and will be produced in seriously LOW numbers (in 2014 only 99 have been produced). So, here is # 6 smile

...these are the first photos I see where the "object" doesn't look blue...which is good, very good...the Firenze at 6 o'clock is not my cup of tea, but I must admit the dial and the strap make it quite a good looking "object". Congratulation my friend, e...

I feared worse... ;) Very sophisticated dial for a Panerai. Maybe a bit too much?

Congratulations!!!! The sunburst gray dial looks very striking! So with this model, we'll probably see perhaps a sunburst brown, black, or maybe even a blue in the future then IMO. Cheers, Anthony

They already made a brown "sunburst" dial, Anthony

... doesn´t adjust to the dials we usually expect from Panerai. Being it an special piece or edition, as it is evidenced by the Firenze wording on this dial it should be viewed as that: a very special watch to treasure and enjoy. Thanks for sharing and I ...

Stunning acquisition..
