Shades of Grey (including pics of new PAM26 PVD Destro)

Perhaps more so than any other brand, Panerai offers watches in countless different shades of grey, from deep black to polished stainless. The rich charcoal color of the PAM 26 falls somewhere in the middle, lighter than my black ceramic 292, but considerably darker than my tantalum 172. After a very long wait, I have finally received a 292. I owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to several different people who made my acquisition possible, and without whom I would still be waiting. You know who you are and I am eternally grateful. Panerai has experienced production delays with respect to the 292 (they can only produce 80 292s per month). US ADs have yet to receive any 292s. * News Flash: Attention Panerai owners who own Tritium watches PLEASE READ! *

Panerai today has implemented an official policy to begin replacing any non-current production PAM's with tritium dials/hands with superluminova when your PAM's are sent in for servicing at the Panerai Service Center, only if the tritium is found to be flaking or chipping off. Like every year before the SIHH in Geneva we ask ourselves, is this the year of the Mare?
