I had to pay a short visit at the Panerai Booth, this year, as every year, and I must say that a few of their watches are very interesting.
I'm preparing a dedicated topic about the Mare Nostrum Pam 300, as it deserves more than a few pics, indeed.
I didn't have the time to take pics of the New Rads 42 mm, but they are really nice and interesting.
I still don't get the EOT with the Sky Chart on the case back...It would have been on the dial, I wouldn't get it, either.
But, here, I want to say some words on which is, to me, one of the most interesting 2010 Panerai, the Radiomir Composite Marina Militare.
I'm seduced by this watch, not for its historical qualities, it is not one, as Panerai never made a MM Radiomir nor an 8 Days ( Vintage ) Radiomir.
But aesthetically speaking, this is a very nice watch, which respects the roots, the spirit of the Brand.
The use of a composite case, which is, IMO, better than the PVD, much more resistant, as it is not a surface treamtent, is a great pro.
The look of the case is really awesome, a kind of deep brown.
The dial is as I like it, simple, even if I would have preferred less wording on it, but hey...
The " Otto Giorni " is historically incorrect on a Rad, but it gives some symmetry to the dial. if you look at the location of the 3 / 9, the small second.
I will even say that it is an aestheticall improvement, compared to the 190, on which the 9 cruelly lacked.
I'd have appreciated a 4 lines wording on the dial, as it misses ... Radiomir, but I'm very happy to not see this bloody power reserve indicator on the dial.
To sum my impressions on this watch, it is, to me, the nicest MM since the Pam 36:
Best,
Nicolas
