Just a response to my own question (for anybody that cares).
My friend took both his vintage Omega and Corteberg to a 3rd party repair center to have a look-see.
The Omega was royally messed up (due to my friend magnetizing it on his iPad, then purchasing a demagnetizer to try to fix it himself, messing up badly, knocked it around a few times before finally giving up and taking it to the shop).
His Corteberg, on the other hand, was originally a pocket-watch. Just as what he suspected.=)
