And if I didn't, it is certainly not because I am not convinced by the Watch in itself. It is just a matter of funds and bad timing.
Now that I am " Panerailess " due to some exterior circumstances, I think that this is the one to get.
i dn't really care about the movement being " in house ", or the ETA. You don't buy a Panerai for the movement, but for the look, for the " historical " concept, for the incredible pleasure it provides you.
This 372 is one of these modern Panerais which does provide a lot of pleasure. A lot!
Like you, the only thing I would have preferred is a solid case back, though, which is nothing compared to the pros on this Watch.
As for the hairlines on your plexy, try some toothpaste, with a wet cotton. Polish your plexy in a circular way for some minutes, change the cotton, and clean the dial with a wet cotton.
Then, take a microfiber cloth, and normally, all your hairlines will disappear.
I would love to see Panerai re editing a Small Egiziano, too, but I think that it will not be in competition with the 372.
So to sum it, the 372 will certainly be my Panerai... The Small Egiziano, if it is correctly made and priced, will be my second. Then, Basta, as the Italians use to say.
A last thing which made me smile, when reading you: Your history with Panerai.
When I read you, it drove me back to ten years ago and our passionate discussions about the brand from Firenze...
Good old times...
Best, my dear Michael.
And thanks for this superb post.
