Yup the PAM359 strap should be tapered

Apr 04, 2010,06:06 AM

I didn't check if it was, but Panerai OEM straps, in general, for 44mm Luminors taper from 24mm x 22mm.  And I don't see why it shouldn't be the same for this PAM359 strap.

Panerai had a press preview of the SIHH 2010 novelties at the Beverly Hills Boutique on Wed & Thu March 24th & 25th, so some of the PPro mod team made our way down there to check out the new watches. I wanted to do something different for this Panerai SIH...

 By: pbateman : April 2nd, 2010-09:31
Great pics! Does anyone know if the strap on the 335 is available for separate purchase?

re: PAM355

 By: DRMW : April 2nd, 2010-11:24
Hello pbateman! Thanks for looking, I'm sure your local AD and of course the Boutiques can order the 335 strap separate for you. Which Panerai do you currently have? -MW

Found it!

I called the NY Boutique today and they had one in stock, so I went into the city and picked it up. I have a 312 and a 243. Think the new strap will look nice on the 312.

Great!! [nt]

"feel" for the watches. I am now smitten with the PAM 323 and the circular power reserve, really cool. I do have one question, what is the water resistance on the 323? I did not see it marked on the case or dial. Thanks again, Tim

Water resistance of the PAM323 is 100 meters [nt]

I could wait to have the event in Shanghai so I can preview the 300, 339, 338, 29, and all the goodies.

Videos do help.....

 By: JMan : April 1st, 2010-22:01
Anthony, I thought it was great to have videos. Sometimes it felt like the video reviews of electronic items (computers, iPods etc) that you find on cnet or someplace like that. It gives a much better 3D perspective of the watch. Thanks. J.

Great report, Anthony.

So you didn't succomb to the charm of the Mare? Thanks for your pics, my friend. Nicolas

The Mare Nostrum is just too large for my wrist

 By: AnthonyTsai : April 1st, 2010-23:10
so it wasn't too difficult for me to evade its deadly grasp. If my wrist were 9", then I'd consider maybe wearing one. Cheers, Anthony

I completely understand you, Anthony.

 By: amanico : April 1st, 2010-23:27
For me, this Mare is an Heart Breaker. If only it was 4 mm less big...I would have joyfully jumped on it! Best, Nicolas

Great work again!!! Thanks.... [nt]

Awesome post!

Thanks for all the wrist shots and I especially appreciate the videos=) One very minor thing though, I think you mislabeled the PAM355 as PAM335 HAGWE!!! C

Thanks for the correction. Made the changes! [nt]

 By: BluNotte : April 2nd, 2010-05:08
Thanks for the video and the coverage Anths! Btw, may i ask who is the singer of "Eye of the Tiger" that you posted together with the PAM 300 video? It doesnt sound like the original guys, is that a modern version? Cheers Stephen

All the music in the videos are from youtube's selection

 By: AnthonyTsai : April 2nd, 2010-08:44
of background music to choose from for your audioswap. I don't know who sings this version of "Eye of the Tiger" but it's definitley not the original artist. YouTube just lists this song as: Eye Of the Tiger (Cover) artist: ...Top Chart Hits album: Ice Ic...

It sure is!

that 359 is crazy looking, but it's growing on me! that strap is just perfect for it. is it tapered?

Yup the PAM359 strap should be tapered

Panerai really rolled out the Radiomirs this year. You metioned the new 42mm Radiomirs as good gifts for women, and it really did look good on Ping -- but did they really wear that small to you? I like the look of the titanium with gold hands. Best, Calif...

Yes it wore a little small for me but it wasn't too small

 By: AnthonyTsai : April 4th, 2010-06:12
I could live with the size if I had to wear it. I'm used to wearing a 45mm and 47mm Radiomir so 42mm did feel much smaller. I also want to add the PAM338 is fairly thin compared to the 45mm Rads. - AT

Thank you for a great report

 By: nitediver : April 3rd, 2010-21:58
Can't see the videos here in Shanghai but hey, i see the pics and thats not so bad either. My personal favorites of this years Panarai novelties are the 346 8 days TI and the 343 Rattrapante Fourdoyante. Not to forget of course the black beauty 335... Tha...

Great report! Thanks (nt)

GREAT report..and love the music...

 By: ocwatching : April 8th, 2010-20:05
thanks for the forewarning... music with the videos added to the effect.. what did you think about the 349? that piece is on my list if the 339 don't come my way..

The Panerai PAM349 47mm Radiomir Titanium w/ California dial and Minerva movement

 By: AnthonyTsai : April 9th, 2010-06:17
looks funny to me whenever I see it. Panerai just combined the PAM249 and PAM309 into a single watch. Looks weird since I'm not used to seeing both watches in a single form. The railroad tracks at the perimeter of the PAM349 just don't match well with the...

Besides....

 By: MiniCooper : April 9th, 2010-11:48
I am certain that Panerai will remake a California dial.... cheers

Sorry Anthony!..I meant the 346..

 By: ocwatching : April 9th, 2010-19:45
but I agree with you on the 349...very interesting piece that I hope to see the metal one day... I am hopeful for the 339...will seek out the 190...and fall back on the 349...

The PAM346 is very nice and many should love this new PAM

 By: AnthonyTsai : April 10th, 2010-19:10
Uses a P.2002 movement w/ the power reserve on the back instead of the usual "fang". Brown dial and gold hands too. It's a total different PAM than the PAM339 so it's not really an apples to apples comparison IMO. Cheers, Anthony
