Hi chaps, I believe the old Panerai DLC coating was probably like the old Anomino Ox-pro just my opinion I've never handled the old DLC watches. Imo any coating will scratch but a 2,000HV DLC coating will have about the same hardness as sapphire also the coating can always be removed and redone. Hop
Very sorry to hear about your Pam cracking it just goes to show the ceramic has great hardness but poor toughness making it brittle. If it makes you feel better I've known sapphire and even acrylic watch glasses crack when dropped on a hard tiled floor. All the best. Bry
