Thanks for the history lesson that is so useful for non-Panerai folk.

I agree that this shape of Panerai would be a hit if they brought it out again. Sensible, ergonomic, and a true working tool watch should follow the KISS principle - Keep It Simple, Stupid ! 

Duh  - da time goes round when the hands go round and the case goes round because the hands go round.  No clamps, screws, levers, or knobs to activate for water-resistance.  smile
